How can you control your life if you can’t control your hair?

BEAUTY BAR OPENS IN CHICAGO

That’s right ladies! From L.A. to Brooklyn, and now Chicago, these vintage hang out beauty bar’s were all inspired by a beauty salon that went under and then turned into a bar. Keeping the beauty salon theme the owner merged the two concepts of beauty and a bar. Hence the name. They offer a Martini and Mani for 10 bucks! Later in the evening they bring in talent such as DJ’s, bands or dancers. I’ve actually been to the Beauty Bar in L.A. and it truly does have legit old salon chairs and dryers. Bar stools are hairstyling chairs too! My girl Anna and I rocked out to a killer local band. Ahhh…can’t beat music and beauty. It’s what I live for!

NATURAL HAIR CLEANSE

shampooing-hair-fb

Professional hair products protect your hair and enhance its natural
state, but not everyone buys professional products.
Over the counter hair care can leave residue or cause build up on your
scalp. In other instances your scalp can over produce its natural
oils. So here’s a quick cleansing remedy and chances are you don’t
have to leave your house or spend a dime!

baking-soda

Just open your refrigerator and take your baking soda. It helps
regulate ph levels in everything. Including hair.

1. Take a travel size shampoo bottle and transfer your current shampoo

2. Add 1-2 teaspoons of baking soda. The consistency should be a little thick.

3. Next add 3-4 drops of natural honey.

4. Shake it up or stir together. You may add a little water if necessary.

5. Shampoo your hair as normal. Make sure you lather well, use more
shampoo if needed..

6. Rinse and condition.

Your hair will feel squeaky clean and will look refreshed but don’t
over do it on the honey. Although it adds extra moisture and shine,
too much and you’ll end up with sticky hair. Sticky hair is NOT better
than greasy hair.  You can do this whenever your hair feels weighed
down and limp or once a week for virgin hair. If your hair is colored
do not use this cleanse for at least 2-3 weeks. It can strip out new color.

JOLIE’S NEW COLOR

Last time we caught some lightness in Jolies hair was in “Girl Interuppted” (good movie by the way) but now she’s rockin a few chunky highlights. What do you think?

A WORLD WITH NO COLOR?

That is exactly the approach David Adam took to create The Charcoal Suite collection. With the help of  globally renowned editorial artist Peter Gray, Aveda’s Makeup artist Rudy Miles and Photographer Robert Lobetta. The photos showcase the stunning results of an inspired fusion between New York and London beauty and fashion, technique and art. Over the course of three days this is what they came up with. Check it out. I think its smoking HOT and inspiring!
